About Eric the Professional
Thoughtful, Intellectual
Fun, Exciting

I've always thought it better to know a little bit about a lot of things than a lot about only a few things. At Miami University, I applied this belief to learn animation, business, coding, design, and marketing. I'm an idea guy, but it doesn't stop there; transforming ideas into reality is the exciting part of the creative process.

I'm comfortable with the product development life cycle and have experience with agile development, daily scrums, storyboarding, and tools such as Slack and Trello. Trial and error is part of the process for me. Being calm and level-headed, even under pressure, is a large part of who I am. I can confidently look back and see that I've successfully accomplished what I've set out to achieve, overcoming countless hurdles along the way.

In my prior work I've been recognized as a reliable team player that's also capable of working independently to produce high quality results. I like to start by listening and asking questions to understand the problem or task before I start working on a solution. I'm an excellent critical thinker capable of considering multiple dimensions to solve a variety of challenges whether related to design, process, technical elements, or strategy. My ability to leverage the strengths and skills of my co-workers complements my research skills and "Google-fu" to help me troubleshoot and solve any issues that arise during a project.

I lead through my actions, integrity and consideration for other people.

From what I've been told, people like having me around because I am:

  • encouraging

  • excellent listener

  • fun with a good sense of humor

  • objective

  • resourceful

  • understanding

  • dependable

About Eric the Person

When I "grow up" I want to be an angel investor. I love seeing new breakthroughs in science and technology, and I would enjoy helping new entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

I grew up playing hockey and soccer, and love being active and fit. Most recently I started snowboarding, mountain biking, and bouldering. For relaxation I enjoy reading, playing board games and playing video games. I wouldn't consider myself a "gamer," but I have spent my share of days engrossed in some of my favorites. It's fair to say that I have hands-on familiarity with the majority of successful game products and platforms over the past fifteen years. I especially enjoy games that let me create my own environment, or explore a world while progressing through the levels.

Recently, I transitioned away from my fantasy hockey statistics spreadsheets towards... more spreadsheets. This time I'm tracking and analyzing my personal finance investments.

Since I graduated from Miami University, I've been focused on improving my mind, body and soul, as part of my preparation for my professional career. I've completed several personal projects, I'm working out regularly, reading more, and building a financial portfolio. From sci-fi and classics to self-help and investing, reading is one of my preferred methods for expanding my breadth of knowledge in areas related to my goals. I'm currently reading The Intelligent Investor and The Design of Everyday Things.
